Gardener's Notes: Sow seeds outdoors in early spring in average garden soil, as soon as soil can be worked. Mix seeds with sand and spread over area or space seeds 3-4 inches apart. Keep moist until seedlings appear. Thin to recommended spacing. In warm climates, plant in fall for spring bloom. Poppies tolerate dry conditions but bloom longer if watered regularly. Plants may reseed for bloom the following year.
