Cosmos Apricotta - Ontario Seed Company
Cosmos bipinnatus
Discover the sophisticated new colouration of Apricotta Cosmos! This tall, free-flowering annual features an exceptional and utterly adorable colour combination: delicate shades of apricot mixed with soft pinks, all highlighted by a lovely soft pink centre. Blooming continuously from summer right through early autumn, this variety makes a stunning and romantic display in tall borders, or provides beautiful, long-stemmed blooms for your best cutflower arrangements.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Cosmos are incredibly easy to grow and thrive on neglect, making them ideal for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last expected frost date, or direct sow after all danger of frost has passed.
Germination: Seed typically germinates in 7 to 14 days.
Transplanting: Transplant seedlings outside into a location with Full Sun and average soil. Avoid overly rich soil, as this encourages lush foliage but fewer flowers.
Planting Depth: 6 mm
Seed Spacing: 30 cm
Thin to: 45 cm
Row Width: 60 cm
Deadhead spent blooms often, or harvest flowers regularly, to encourage continuous, prolific flowering right up until frost. Taller varieties may benefit from staking in windy locations.
Expected Height: 120 cm.
Approx. 25 seeds/pkt
