Scarlet Runner Bean - Northern Wildflowers

Striking scarlet flowers attract hummingbirds. Beans are delicious when young and tender. Rapid and tall climbers. Doubles as an ornamental. Seed from a small organic farm in British Columbia. 

Companions: Squash, Corn, Swiss Chard

Approx. 15-20 Seeds

Growing Instructions:

Germinates best at 15-21°C in moist soil.

Plant Spacing : Thin to 4-8” apart. Row Spacing: 12” apart.

Direct seed 1-2” deep as soon as the soil reaches 16°C and all danger of frost has passed. Beans are sensitive to cool soils and are prone to rot if temperatures are below 12°C. Snap beans can be planted every 2-3 weeks for a continual harvest through mid-summer.
