Sativa Madia - Eagleridge Seeds
Cannabis sativa
This Native American wildflower has a habitat range from California to Chile. The flower stalks are 3-4 feet tall. The 5-inch flower spike is full of tiny yellow flowers. The base is a dark green cluster of small oval leaves. The historical uses of this plant include using the seeds as a rich source of protein and a very high-quality oil which was extracted by boiling. The whole plant is sticky and is sweet-smelling. Europeans have been extracting the oil for some time and it is comparable to Olive Oil in taste and nutrition. This plant thrives in poor rocky soils with a minimum of water, which only increases the oil content. Easy to grow, direct seed in mid-spring and cover lightly. Our bed self- seeds and overwinters creating an excellent ground cover and weed barrier. The sticky surface traps garden pests like fruit flies. There is great potential for oil production using this plant.
Approx. 10-15 seeds
