A stunning Salvia with upright, deep grape-colored flower spikes displayed above green toothy foliage, the color is unlike anything we've seen before! Plants have a neat, rounded habit and stay gorgeous all season! Tolerant of hot weather and pest-free, it is reliable and stunning in containers and garden beds. Perfect for glowing, intense color from spring through fall. The long-lasting blooms are bumblebee and hummingbird favorites, full of nectar and pollen that attracts, feeds and sustains them.

TENDER PERENNIAL GROWN AS ANNUAL

Summer/Fall bloom. Frost tender.

TO START EARLY INDOORS

Five to six weeks before last frost date, sow seeds 1⁄2 inch deep and2 inches apart in a container of seed starting mix. Keep moist and provide a strong light source until seedlings are ready to plant in the garden. Acclimate seedlings gradually to outdoor conditions when night temperatures are regularly above 50°F (10°C). Space seedlings 10 to 12 inches apart in the garden.

FOR CONTAINER GROWING

Plant 5-6 seedlings per 20 inch pot; 3 plants per 12-14 inch pot. 

TO START DIRECTLY IN THE GARDEN

Sow seeds in a well-worked seedbed in full sun only when all danger of frost is past and weather is warm and settled. Space seeds 4 to 5 inches apart in rows 12 inches apart, cover about 1⁄2 inch deep and gently firm soil. Keep soil evenly moist while awaiting germination in 10 to 20 days.

Perfect in containers OR garden beds! This lovely Salvia is a weather tolerant, low maintenance plant that adds rich color and texture to the garden. Keeping spent flowers removed will encourage extended flowering.
