Tomato Black Prince - Saanich Organics

Solanum lycopersicum

Mahogany brown with good flavor. Unusual brown shoulders become orange-red at the blossom end. Color will be deeper and more pronounced in sunnier locations. Distinctive, rich, fruity tomato flavor. Sensitive to overwatering. Relatively smooth, 3–5 oz., 3″ globes show less cracking than typically seen in most heirlooms. Very productive and early! Indeterminate.

Start indoors, seeding 5mm-1cm deep, with bottom heat and lots of light; transplant into bigger pots before plants become rootbound. Plant out when night lows are above 10 degrees C; space plants 50-75cm apart in rows 1m apart and provide supports. Germination in 7-14 days, maturity 70 days from transplanting.

Certified organic in British Columbia.
