Gardener's Notes: Sow seeds directly in the garden in spring. Carrots need light, well- drained soil. Sprinkle seeds evenly in the row, about 3-4 per inch and cover very lightly. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Thin young seedlings, so carrots stand 1-2 inches apart, allowing them room to grow to maturity. Make several sowings 2 weeks apart for a continuous supply till mid summer. Plant again in fall for a late harvest.
