Beet Golden Detroit - Cornucopia Seeds

Beta vulgaris

Pretty beets with golden-orange exteriors and sweet yellow flesh whose color doesn't bleed when cooked. Delicious whether you roast or boil them, use for colorful pickles, or enjoy in salads. Golden beet tops are very tender and especially tasty.

Light Full sun
Row Spacing  12 in
Plant Spacing  4 in
Planting depth 1/2 in
Days to Germination 10-14 days
Plant Height  8 in

Gardener's Notes: Start outdoors in early spring in full sun after frost danger is over and as soon as soil can be worked. In mild climates, plant again in early fall for a late crop. Sow seeds in well drained soil 2 inches apart, firm soil well over seeds and keep evenly moist. Carefully thin young seedlings several times, so final spacing is 4 inches apart. For sweetest flavor do not let plants dry out.
