Phlox paniculata

This annual features fringed flower petals similar to carnations. The fragrant double flowers bloom in a variety of colors through summer and fall. Plants are compact and popular as edgings and borders, or in containers. They work well in rock gardens, and are long-lasting cut flowers. Plants tolerate poor soil and dry conditions. They bloom best in cooler weather. Pick old flowers to prolong blooming.
