Pak Choi Mei Qing Choi Hybrid International - Aimers Seeds
Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis
Variety originated in Japan
A visually enticing and quick-maturing variety, Mei Qing Choi Pak Choi is the essence of culinary elegance. This hybrid produces a compact, vase-like plant with tightly whorled pale green stems and oval, deep green leaves. With a crisp yet tender texture and a slightly sweet taste, this is a premium ingredient for adding authentic flavour and beauty to your dishes.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow:
Mei Qing Choi thrives in cooler weather, making it an excellent choice for a spring or fall harvest.
Planting: Direct sow seeds in a sunny site every two weeks from mid-spring through to mid-summer, as long as temperatures remain cool. Plant seeds 6 mm deep and 25 mm apart in rows 45 cm apart. Once established, thin to a final spacing of 35 cm.
Care: Keep the soil evenly watered. As summer heat builds, monitor plants closely for signs of bolting (the production of a flower stalk), which can quickly diminish taste and texture. Harvest by cutting the plants off at their base with a sharp knife just before bolting occurs.
Approx. 50 seeds/pkt
