These wine-colored beauties offer great garden performance and produce elongated 10-13 cm (4-5") onions with a rich, mild, and sweet flavor. Their juicy, crispy red flesh is perfect for grilling or adding a pop of color and flavor to any dish.  The bulbs can be harvested young to use as a salad onion or left to mature for a more pungent flavour in dishes. Space-saving and adaptable, these onions are a must-have for any garden.

An Intermediate Day variety; bulb size increases with longer days that is best used fresh.

INSTRUCTIONS

Seeds can be started indoors 8-10 weeks early and transplanted outside in early spring. Otherwise, direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in spring.

SUGGESTIONS

Use thinning and green stems like chives. Grow leeks, too, for their mild flavor.
