Mustard Greens Osaka Purple International - Aimers Seeds

Brassica juncea

Variety originated in Japan

Originating from Japan, the Osaka Purple Mustard is a truly exquisite addition to the gourmet garden. These magnificent plants produce baby leaves with a delightfully sweet taste that becomes more pungent as they mature. The leaves boast an intriguing purplish-red tinge, adding both sophisticated colour and culinary pizzazz to any salad or dish. It is a stunning, high-performance plant perfect for the discerning chef and a great choice for a kitchen container garden.

What to know to Plant & Grow:

Sowing: Sow seeds in a sunny site in successive crops every two weeks from April to August, as long as the weather is cool. Plant seeds 6 mm deep, with 2.5 cm spacing.

Care: Keep the soil evenly moist. Once established, thin plants to 10 cm apart in rows 45 cm wide. This is a cold-hardy plant that allows for harvests well into the fall.

Harvesting: Baby greens can be harvested when they reach 7.5-15 cm in height. For a continuous harvest, cut the outer leaves as needed. The plant matures in approximately 50 days.

Germination: Germination occurs in approximately 7-10 days.
