Tomato Moneymaker - Mr. Fothergill's Seeds

Lycopersicon lycopersicum

  • Vitamin A, B, C, E, and K
  • A great tasting medium sized tomato
  • Indeterminate Type
  • Excellent Yields
  • Heirloom Variety with vigorous growth
  • Indeterminate

For many this is the gardeners' standard choice as it is a heavy cropper of fine tasty fruits approximately 60g/2oz.

Technically a fruit, but also Britain’s favourite summer vegetable!  No surprise because nothing you buy beats the flavour of home-grown tomatoes.

Approx. 75 seeds

For greenhouse crops, sow indoors January-April. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly, 0.5cm (¼") deep, in a pot of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10-15cm (4-6") tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Plant out April to May to large pots, growing bags or greenhouse border. Harvest: June-October.

For outdoor crops, delay indoor sowing until March or April. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into warm, well-drained soil, 45cm (18") apart, when frosts are over. Harvest from August onwards.
