Lathyrus odoratus

  • Annual
  • Celebrate Canada Day in Style!
  • A patriotic mixture of red and white
  • Perfect for growing along a wall or trellis

Sweet Peas
Probably the nation’s favourite! These beautifully scented blooms make dwarf hedging or can climb up trellis and are super cut flowers. We know the sweet pea has a special place amongst our gardeners’ affections and we’re delighted to offer a huge range of varieties to you. Nothing can beat the sweet pea for all round performance - garden decoration and wonderful fragrance in the garden and the vase!

Approx. 20 seeds

Sow 13mm (1/2") deep, 5cm (2") apart, in rich, well drained soil in early spring, as soon as soil can be worked. For earlier blooms, start indoors 6-8 weeks before final frost and transplant up to 2 weeks before final frost. Shoots are hardy and can take light frosts. Germination takes 10-21 days. Train young plants up a fence or wall, or support with sticks or netting. Pick regularly to prolong flowering period.

Aid germination by slitting the seed coat slightly, then soak for 24 hours before sowing.
