Viking Spinach. Heirloom vegetable. This dependable heirloom spinach produces a heavy yield of glossy, tasty dark green savoyed leaves that are rich in vitamins. Viking is a long standing variety that shows good heat tolerance. Harvest of mature leaves can be expected about 50 days after planting. Baby greens can be harvested at about 20-30 days. Introduced in 1933.

Approx. 350 seeds

Sow seed 12mm (1/2in) deep and 2.5cm (1in) apart in rows 30-45cm (12- 18in) apart as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring and every two weeks after that until late spring. Thin to 5-7.5cm (2-3in) after germination – this is the secret to the best crops. Sow again in mid to late August for fall crops. Top-dress with compost, after seedlings are well established.
