Bean Kentucky Wonder/Homestead Pole

Thought by some to be THE most popular bean of all beans, Kentucky Wonder aka Old Homestead Pole has been one of the most widely grown and beloved "old-fashioned" varieties for centuries. This heirloom is harvested fresh or dry - prized as a flavourful, tender, long, round, stringless fresh bean that freezes very well, and also a delicious cooked dry bean that is small, tan-coloured and slightly kidney bean-shaped. Geminates at cooler temperatures than most other beans. Very productive so will give a great harvest whether you support it to reach its 8ft tall potential, or a shorter fence/trellis. Vigorous vines grow strongly skyward and produce pods generously.
