Botanically known as Iris x Hollandica, the Dutch Iris is an easy-growing perennial that can often be seen in floral arrangements. These plants look great in the garden, from borders and walkways to larger groups in containers! While Dutch Irises come in a variety of colours, this particular mix provides orange, red, and purple blooms with distinctive yellow stripes down their petal centers. When planted in September through December, you can expect your flowers to start popping up in either May or June and they can reach a mature height of 22 inches. Plant bulbs 3 inches deep and 3 inches apart, ensuring that bulbs are planted in well-draining soil to make their lifespan as long as possible and avoid rotting; Dutch Irises don’t do well in soggy soil! Established plants will be fine in full or partial sun, but they live longest and flower best with full sun.
