Lettuce Pint Size - Ontario Seed Company

Lactuca sativa

Perfectly named for its adorable size, Pint Size Lettuce is the ideal variety for small-space gardeners or those who crave individual, crisp servings. Each compact plant produces 1 to 2 charming 10 cm to 12 cm crisp heads. The dark green outer leaves protect a bright green interior of neatly wrapped leaves, surrounding a very small inner core. You’ll love its very distinctive, sweet flavour and satisfying crunchiness. Best of all, it’s slow bolting and resistant to Fusarium race 1!

What you need to know to Plant & Grow

This lettuce can be started indoors for an earlier harvest, or direct sown in the garden. For best results, plant in early spring or late summer, as lettuce prefers cooler temperatures.

Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting outdoors.

Sow Outdoors: Direct sow in the spring and again in late summer/early autumn for a fall crop.

Germination: Seed typically germinates in 7 to 14 days.

Planting Depth: 3 mm

Seed Spacing: 5 mm

Thin to: 30 cm

Row Width: 45 cm

Provide a site with Full Sun to Partial Shade and rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil. Keep the soil evenly moist to ensure the leaves remain tender and to help prevent bolting.

Approx. 150 seeds/pkt
