Gardener's Notes: In early spring, after danger of frost is past, scatter seeds thinly and evenly over the surface of garden containers, aiming for 1-2 inches apart. Use containers that are 12-18 inches wide and deep, with fresh new potting soil. Cover seeds lightly about 1/4 inch deep. Water gently and evenly. Keep moist. When seedlings are well-established, thin out any that are too close together so final spacing is 2-3 inches. Water plants regularly for best and longest blooms.
