Beans Golden Wax Jumbo - Ontario Seed Company
Phaseolus vulgaris
A true classic since the 1870s, Golden Wax Yellow Bush Bean continues to be one of the best-selling yellow beans on the market for good reason. It produces loads of flat, creamy yellow pods that are completely stringless. A hardy and very productive variety, it’s an excellent choice for fresh eating, freezing, and canning.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow
Beans have a distinct dislike for cold, wet soils, so sow seeds only after the soil has warmed to at least 16°C.
Planting: Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in rows spaced 45 to 70 cm apart. For a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 10 days until mid-July.
Care: Keep the soil evenly watered, particularly when the plants are in flower and starting to produce pods. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which can promote excessive foliage. To reduce the risk of disease, avoid disturbing the plants when leaves are damp. Germination occurs in approximately 8 days.
Approx. 80-100 seeds/pkt
