Clinopodium Vulgare

 This unique medicinal perennial herb grows 6-8 inches high and makes a great ground cover plant in rockeries or marginal soil conditions. The plant is very dense, full of small dark green rounded leaves. The small fuchsia  coloured blossoms smother the plant in summer for well over a month. Loved by bees. The fresh scent is similar to thyme. Makes a very pleasant tea and useful to remedy stomach upset. Tiny seed, start in flats in early spring, lightly covered or direct seed in late spring.
