This tender Indian tropical perennial has mid green leaves topped with small mauve flowers in summer. Adapts well to pot culture or directly into the garden. Prefers good moisture and sunny locations. Fresh leaves have a unique refreshing pungency, used in salads and as a potherb. This variety is a living treasure, used traditionally on the Indian subcontinent as the most preferred for tea, used fresh or dried. The famous medicinal qualities are now recognized world wide. An adaptogen, good stress reducer and immune booster for help with colds and flu.

Pre-soaking seeds overnight speeds up germination. Start in small pots 1/4 inch deep then provide warmth and even moisture.
