Brassica Oleracea Botrytis Cymosa

This famous Italian heirloom classic is by far our favorite annual main season variety and dates back to the 1880s. The large dark green main heads are up to 6 inches across. There are many small side shoots for a continuous harvest, once the main head is harvested, perfect for salad or stir fry. The taste is very sweet. Cold tolerant, can start very early spring in small pots to transplant to the garden or direct seed in early spring. Sow 1/4 inch deep. For good size, plant 1 foot apart. Side dress your broccoli bed with rich compost and garden lime to be sure you have alkaline soil conditions for your plants to thrive. Ready in 50 days.
