Gardener's Notes: Larkspur grows and flowers best in cool weather. In mild winter climates, sow outdoors in fall for early spring bloom. In cold winter climates, start as early as soil can be worked. Sow seeds in well-drained soil in full sun, 1-2 in. apart & 1/4 in. deep. Germination takes 2 to 3 weeks. Carefully thin young seedlings to 10-12 inches apart so they have room to grow and bloom.
