Gardener's Notes:

Start seeds indoors 3 weeks before last frost, or plant directly outdoors when night temperatures stay above 55F (13C). Sow 4-6 seeds in slightly mounded hills 3' across and 6' apart. Thin or transplant to 2-3 plants per hill before vines begin to spread. Water and fertilize regularly when pumpkins form. Harvest when vines die back, pumpkin stems are brown and dry, and rinds are hard. Leave 3-5" of stem when cutting pumpkins. Let harvested pumpkins cure in the sun for 1o days.
