Coreopsis Tinctoria Dwarf - Ontario Seed Company
Coreopsis
A compact version of a beloved wildflower. As this plant matures to 40 cm height it is perfect for the front of the border. Dwarf Plains Coreopsis is a self-seeding annual that has good heat tolerance and prefers sandy well drained soil. While this specie has decent drought tolerance it is most often found growing naturally in areas that receive regular rainfall. A valuable North American native plant for providing first year colour in meadow mixes.
How to Grow
Start seed indoors in a soil-less mix in early spring for mid summer blooms. Germinate at 24° C for 5 to 10 days. After germination, grow on under lights at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting outside to a sunny spot. Outdoors, sow seed mid-May to early June. Keep the soil moist during the germination period. In formal plantings, thin plants to 30 cm apart in the garden. Seed can also be sown directly outside in the fall for germination in the following spring.
Approx. 500 seeds/pkt
