Gazania rigens

Boldly coloured daisy-like flowers open by day, close at night. Excellent in containers, beds or rock gardens. Thrives in dry heat.

Start indoors in a warm, well-light area about 8 weeks before the last frost. Sow in full sun in well-drained soil after danger of frost or sow seeds thinly and cover with 0.6cm of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist. Plants emerge in 7-14 days. Blooms in summer.
