Beans Royal Burgundy Large - Ontario Seed Company
Phaseolus vulgaris
Add a touch of vibrant colour to Your Garden with our Royal Burgundy Bush Bean seeds. This trusted purple-podded variety is a productive and long-bearing favourite, known for its ability to get a jump on the season in cooler soil. Enjoy richly textured, crispy, and meaty 15 cm long pods with a delicious flavour, whether eaten fresh or enjoyed from the freezer.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow
This variety is an excellent choice for an early start. While most beans dislike cold, wet soil, Royal Burgundy is more tolerant. Sow seeds once the soil has warmed to at least 16°C for best results.
Planting: Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in rows spaced 45 to 70 cm apart. To ensure a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 10 days until mid-July.
Care: Keep the plants evenly watered, especially when they are in flower and starting to produce pods. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizer, which promotes excessive foliage. To reduce the risk of disease, avoid disturbing the plants when leaves are damp. Germination occurs in approximately 8 days.
Approx. 80-100 seeds/pkt
