What you need to know to Plant & Grow

Beans dislike cold, wet soils, so sow seeds only after the soil has warmed to at least 16°C.

Planting: Sow seeds 2.5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in rows spaced 45 to 70 cm apart.

Care: To ensure a continuous harvest, make successive sowings every 10 days until mid-July. Keep the plants evenly watered, particularly when they are in flower and starting to produce pods. Avoid using high-nitrogen fertilizer, as it can lead to excessive foliage growth. When leaves are damp, avoid disturbing the plants to reduce the risk of disease. Germination occurs in 7-10 days.
