Armeria Maritima - Ontario Seed Company
Armeria maritima
Thrift, which is also known as Sea Pink, produces abundant rose coloured blooms in late spring and early summer. Low evergreen foliage generally keeps below 20 cm in height. This plant is very drought tolerant which makes it an excellent choice for xeriscaping or other sunny, perennially dry areas. Perennial hardy to Zone 3.
How to Grow
This plant is sometimes erratic to start from seed. Using a soil-less mix start seed indoors in early March but soak seed first for several hours before sowing. Keep the growing medium at 15° C for the 28 day germination period. After germination, grow on under lights before hardening off and transplanting to a sunny site. A late summer sowing outdoors in August will also work for flowering in the following year.
Approx. 250 seeds/pkt
