Spinach Bloomsdale - Aimer's Organic Seeds

Spinacia oleracea

This savory leaved spinach has thick, twisted, glossy leaves that are excellent raw in salads or seamed as a side dish. Look for big yields with this heat and cold tolerant variety. Bloomsdale helps extend the harvest as it is slow to bolt when the heat of summer arrives. Harvest multiple crops by sowing in both early spring and again in late summer. A garden staple since the mid 1920's!

Sow - Direct Outdoors, Spring/Summer Days to Harvest - 47
Location - Full Sun Emergence - 7 to 10 days
Difficulty - Easy Lifecycle - Annual
Approx. 700 seeds per packet Frost hardy Heirloom crop

Growing Instructions:

Sow seeds 12mm (1/2") deep and 2.5cm (1") apart in rows 30-45cm (12-18") apart as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring and every 2 weeks after that until late spring. Thin to 5-7.5cm (2-3") after germination - this is the secret to the best crops. Bloomsdale can be sown again in mid to late August for fall crops. Top-dress with compost after seedlings are well established.
