Cucumis sativis

Marketmore is a high yielding variety that grows nicely shaped dark green fruits that are great for slicing. Resistant to scab and mosaic. Marketmore is an excellent variety for providing a long pickling season - making it a favorite cucumber for market gardeners and home gardeners alike!

Sow - Direct Outdoors, Spring Days to Harvest - 67
Location - Full Sun Emergence - 7 to 10 days
Difficulty - Easy Lifecycle - Annual
Approx. 75 seeds per packet Frost intolerant heirloom crop

Growing Instructions:

Cucumbers grow best in a wind-sheltered site with rich, warm, sandy loam. Sow seed when the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up to at least 18°C (65°F). Cooler soils lead to poor germination. Sow seed 2cm (3/4in) deep with 8 seeds per hill in hills spaced 120-150cm (4-5ft) apart. After germination, thin to 4 plants per hill. Cucumbers are shallow rooted and need a consistent and even supply of water. Water is best applied early in the morning to avoid creating favourable conditions for mildew on the foliage.
