Guardsmark is an improved Chioggia beet with a greater uniformity in shape and colour. Their flattened, globe shaped roots have attractive green tops and beautiful purple and white interior zoning. The flesh has a sweet flavour with a peppery finish.

Growing Instructions:
Sow beets outdoors in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. Firm soil over seed and keep evenly moist until they germinate. Do not let soil crust over before seed sprouts. Plant seed every two or three weeks for continuous harvest and keep the soil evenly moist for best growth and flavour. Sow seeds 13mm (1/2in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart in rows spaced 30cm (12in) apart.
